# Astro Starter Kit: Basics

# Safwan's personal website

```sh
4
-
npm create astro@latest -- --template basics
5
```

Code for my personal site. The design of the site is heavily inspired from multiple websites and templates, since I'm no designer lol.

This will change soon as I'm working on a full revamp!

## ๐ Project Structure
16
-
17
-
Inside of your Astro project, you'll see the following folders and files:
18
-
19
-
```text
20
-
/
21
-
โโโ public/
22
-
โ โโโ favicon.svg
23
-
โโโ src/
24
-
โ โโโ components/
25
-
โ โ โโโ Card.astro
26
-
โ โโโ layouts/
27
-
โ โ โโโ Layout.astro
28
-
โ โโโ pages/
29
-
โ โโโ index.astro
30
-
โโโ package.json
31
-
```
32
-
33
-
Astro looks for `.astro` or `.md` files in the `src/pages/` directory. Each page is exposed as a route based on its file name.
34
-
35
-
There's nothing special about `src/components/`, but that's where we like to put any Astro/React/Vue/Svelte/Preact components.
36
-
37
-
Any static assets, like images, can be placed in the `public/` directory.
38
-
39
-
## ๐ง Commands
40
-
41
