Hello, welcome to the dotfiles repo.

Secrets and PII #

This repo is currently published publicly on the remote. Do no commit any secrets or PII, including IP addresses, MAC addresses, SSH keys, credentials, tokens, or other such sensitive info. All such info must be encrypted prior to committing.

Tools #

This jj repo of files for use with chezmoi. I use nushell as much as possible, so shell commands for me to type should be in nushell, and all scripts should be written in nushell. I do not want bash scripts, if at all possible.

Design direction #

• Declarative over imperative as much as possible.
• Verbosity and clarity are more important than concision and compactness.
• The exception to the above is in shell aliases, though they should be logical, and as verbose as needed for the task.
• Prefer rust-based tools, or static binaries in suggestions.
• I want stability, and robustness over speed and fragility. I play with bleeding edge things because they may be better or more correct, but I will fall back as needed.
• Documentation is a first class citizen, and I care about having trails to follow, and understanding what's done.
