Wrong DID returned #349

closed
opened by ducky.ws

This handle (ducky.ws) used to belong to a did:plc (did:plc:kv7sv4lynbv5s6gdhn5r5vcw) but is now a did:web (did:web:didd.uk). However, Tangled still believes it belongs a did:plc, and thus I'm unable to really do anything. I can verify this by trying to SSH a knot (e.g. ssh git@knot01.zio.blue) and it responds with Hi @did:plc:kv7sv4lynbv5s6gdhn5r5vcw!.

that response from the knot only indicates that the private key associated with did:plc:kv7sv4lynbv5s6gdhn5r5vcw was accepted by the knot. that being said, we don't ingest identity update events so there are some edge cases around this. for now, you will need to associate a new ssh key with did:web:didd.uk.

Hrmm, I thought I had done. I just went the route of being nuclear and regenerating the SSH keys for that device, and it now sees did:web:didd.uk ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ
