Local validation — 2026-09-08 #
The app builds with Xcode 27 on this Apple silicon Mac and launches as an ad-hoc signed local application. This is development validation, not a signed distribution release.
Verified #
- Native workspace opening, project/conversation navigation, persisted open tabs after relaunch, syntax-highlighted file editing, Markdown preview, and terminal creation.
- Live file navigator groups directories before files, with natural name ordering; a regression test covers nested directories and numeric filenames.
- SF Mono styling and centered 760-point conversation/composer/Markdown columns were inspected in the running app.
- Embedded WebKit browser loaded the Apple Developer website with agent access initially off.
- Deterministic package tests cover layout restoration/movement, canonical shared documents, draft recovery, stale saves, permissions, file access, Git operations/conflicts/worktrees, process cancellation, account contracts, model tool schemas, and editor color conversion.
- Native Git process execution succeeds even when the parent environment names a removed Xcode installation.
- Swift formatting and whitespace checks pass.
Remaining acceptance boundaries #
- The real on-device model completed a coding fixture in earlier trials but also sometimes read the file and responded without editing. The opt-in evaluation checks actual file changes and executed results; it remains a model-quality gate, not a deterministic unit test. Typed read/edit tools remove nested JSON argument failures, but cannot guarantee model task completion.
- Real account sign-in, Tangled SSH writes, spindle logs, Marque/Wisp account data, and authenticated MCP servers still require user-account acceptance. No credentials or hosted writes were used for local verification.
- Private Cloud Compute remains disabled pending the required Apple entitlement, eligibility, and distribution configuration.
- Release signing, notarization, remote repository publishing, and deployment have not been performed.
Run swift test --package-path Packages/ADEKit with a valid Xcode DEVELOPER_DIR for deterministic checks. Set ADE_RUN_MODEL_EVAL=1 to include the real on-device coding evaluation. Use ./script/build_and_run.sh --verify for the native build and launch check.
Tab slicing follow-up #
Native UI checks verified dragging a tab to create a side-by-side split, moving it to a stacked split, then dropping it into the center to merge back and collapse the empty group. Directional model tests cover all four edges, identity/context preservation, invalid drops, and restored layouts. Drop-coordinate tests cover nonzero group origins. The gesture and preview use global SwiftUI coordinates because native split views introduce separate hosting boundaries.
File creation follow-up #
The dedicated create_file tool passed a single real on-device evaluation: it created App/Hello.swift, recorded a successful creation event, and executing the saved file printed Hello, world!. New-file creation has no read prerequisite, creates missing parent directories, and never overwrites an existing path. Deterministic tests cover nested creation, existing files/directories, unsaved drafts, size limits, and checkout escapes. The navigator refreshes after each agent run so newly created files become visible. This successful creation fixture does not establish reliable completion of every model task.
Swift highlighting follow-up #
Four native parser tests verify bundled Swift queries, keyword/string captures on initial load, reparsing after text replacement, and synchronization across two independent editors. The editor bridge now pushes shared-document changes into existing native editors through setText, preserving no-op local edits. The reported print('Hello, World!') sample is invalid Swift and correctly has no string capture; valid Swift uses double quotes. The user's file was not modified by this investigation.
