When the# repo is bind-mounted between a Linux dev container and a macOS host, running# `pnpm install` in the container writes Linux-native binaries (esbuild, etc.)# into the host's node_modules, which then breaks `bun dev` on the host. This# script keeps the ENTIRE install inside a Docker named volume, so the host# never needs — and is never modified by — an install.## How it keeps the host clean:# - `/app/node_modules` is a Docker named volume, so the pnpm store (where# platform-specific native binaries like esbuild live) is never written to# the host. The host never gets Linux binaries that would break macOS runs.# - `/app/packages/appserver/node_modules` is ALSO a volume, masking the# stale host dir so the container always gets fresh, correct symlinks.# - Other packages' per-package node_modules get gitignored symlinks written# to the host (same as `wt-setup`); these are symlinks only, not native# binaries, so they can't break host runs and are gitignored.# - Uses pnpm's default isolated linker (what Dockerfile.appserver uses) —# no fighting the linker with hoisted mode.## Usage:# ./scripts/dev-appserver # run on :8080# ./scripts/dev-appserver --port 8081 # run on a custom port# ./scripts/dev-appserver --reset # wipe the persisted volume + reinstall# ./scripts/dev-appserver --rebuild-sdk # force a rebuild of packages/sdk/dist## Run from the repo root or a worktree root.## Requirements:# - Docker# - packages/appserver/.env (copy from .env.example)# - For a LOCAL leaf-server: `docker compose up -d leaf-server` first, then set# LEAF_URL=http://leaf-server:5530 in packages/appserver/.env. This script# auto-joins the `roomy-dev` network when it exists so the container can reach# `leaf-server` by name.## Notes:# - The SDK (packages/sdk/dist) is gitignored and built on demand inside the# container. Edit SDK source → rebuild with --rebuild-sdk (Bun --watch does# not rebuild the SDK bundle).# - The SQLite DB lives at packages/appserver/data/ (bind mount) so it# persists across restarts and you can inspect it from the host.# - Restarting reuses the persisted install volume and skips setup unless# pnpm-lock.yaml changed (auto-detected) or you pass --reset / --rebuild-sdk.
