in getiTunesInfo(), move the whole thing out of a big try loop so that real
errors can pop up. only wrap a try around the line that gets the muted status,
which apparently fails on my mac mini using digital audio output since it has
no volume/mute controls

now when skipping a bunch of tracks, multiple track notifications will coalesce instead of flooding the screen
