# Choosing what to run

> The Tangled services that you can self-host.

You can self-host some or all of these services:

* **[Knot](/docs/self-hosting/knot/)**: Stores your git repositories. This is typically what you want.
* **[Spindle](/docs/self-hosting/spindle/)**: Runs CI pipelines for your repositories.
* **[Client](/docs/self-hosting/frontend/)**: Shows repositories, issues, and pull requests in a web browser.
* **[Index](/docs/self-hosting/indexer/)**: Collects records from PDSes and knots and serves them to the client.
* **PDS**: Keeps your account, you identity and your social data.
